Recently, Shenyang Transformer Co., Ltd. has successfully developed a controllable reactor model specifically designed for UHV (Ultra High Voltage) and EHV (Extra High Voltage) power grid construction. This model is scaled down at a 100:1 ratio compared to the actual product, and it includes all the essential components as well as both static and dynamic characteristics of the real device. It serves as a valuable tool for testing similar products and provides reliable data for both steady-state and transient process analysis.
The actual product will be deployed as a key pilot unit at the Jingzhou 500 kV converter station. It will be integrated into China's 500 kV ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation project, marking a significant breakthrough in the field of high-voltage controllable reactors within the country. This development fills a critical gap and represents a major step forward in domestic UHV technology.
The project was part of a broader effort to localize key UHV equipment, aligning with China’s long-term strategy for advancing its ultra-high voltage infrastructure. Given the importance of this product to the development of China’s UHV power grid and the potential applications of controllable reactors in future high-voltage systems, Shenyang Group placed strong emphasis on the project. The company sent technical teams to Ukraine, Russia, and other countries to conduct in-depth technical exchanges and ensure the model met international standards.
After the model design passed rigorous review, Shenyang quickly moved forward with physical production. Remarkably, the entire manufacturing process was completed within just one week, showcasing the efficiency and capability of the team. This achievement not only highlights the company's technical expertise but also reinforces its role in driving China’s progress in advanced power transmission technologies.
