Yunnan successfully developed high quality wind turbines for the tobacco industry

Fans play a crucial role in the tobacco industry, but domestic fans have long struggled with issues such as low efficiency, high noise levels, poor wear resistance, and limited corrosion resistance. In response, Yunnan Provincial School has developed advanced wind turbines that have successfully passed expert evaluation and now match the performance of imported models. In 2000, Yunnan Tobacco Machinery Factory and Xi'an Jiaotong University collaborated on the "Localization of Imported Series Fans for Large-Scale Tobacco Re-bake Lines" project under the Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Cooperation Program. The team focused on centrifugal and axial flow fans, conducting extensive testing on impeller anti-wear and corrosion resistance, as well as reliability assessments. As a result, they developed eight series of fan products tailored for the tobacco industry, along with comprehensive application packages. The project was officially accepted by an expert panel from the Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology on January 6th this year. According to the experts, the performance of the locally developed fans is comparable to imported models. When installed at the Zhaotong Cigarette Factory, these fans replaced two imported units. After field testing, they operated continuously without failure for over 6,000 hours. They also produced less noise, showed minimal wear, had lower costs, and were easier to scale for industrial production. Overall, their performance exceeded that of the imported alternatives. As one of Yunnan Province’s key industries, the tobacco sector stands to benefit significantly from the localization of fan technology. This advancement not only reduces production costs but also enhances the competitiveness of both the tobacco and fan manufacturing sectors, helping them capture a larger market share. With continued innovation, local solutions can become a strong alternative to foreign imports, supporting sustainable development in the region.

Engine Piston

The function of the engine piston is to convert the energy produced by the combustion of fuel and air into mechanical motion.
During operation, the piston is accompanied by several other components, including connecting rod, Crankshaft and cylinder wall.

High quality pistons are characterized by lightweight and durable materials, precision machining, advanced coating or heat treatment.

High-quality pistons are usually made of lightweight and durable materials, such as aluminum or titanium alloys. They are also precision-machined to ensure a tight fit with the cylinder wall, which reduces friction and improves overall efficiency.
In addition, high-end pistons may be coated with advanced coatings or heat treatment to further improve their performance and life.

The life of a piston depends on a number of factors, including the quality of the materials used and the manufacturing process, the operating conditions of the engine, and the frequency of maintenance and repair.
However, in general, well-maintained pistons can be used for 100,000 kilometers or more.

To sum up, engine pistons play a vital role in converting fuel and air into mechanical energy, and are accompanied by several other important components during operation.
