On May 21st, China's first 165-ton Qinghai-Tibet Railway bridge-laying special flat car was successfully developed at the CNR Lanzhou Locomotive Works. This milestone marks a significant advancement in railway construction technology, specifically tailored for the challenging conditions of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway line. The 165-ton flat car is designed to transport and lay large bridge sections, playing a crucial role in the development of high-speed rail infrastructure in remote and high-altitude regions.
The project was initiated following a contract signed earlier this year between the Lanzhou Locomotive Works of China CNR Group and the China Railway Wuhan Zhongtie Engineering Machinery Factory. Known for its strong reputation and extensive experience in railway equipment manufacturing, the latter entrusted the production of 19 track-laying machines and bridge-erecting vehicles to CNR. This collaboration highlights the growing demand for specialized machinery in China’s ambitious railway expansion projects.
To meet the tight deadline of September 15th, the Lanzhou plant mobilized its top technical team to complete the design drawings swiftly. The team worked around the clock, ensuring that all specifications met the rigorous requirements of the project. In addition, the plant meticulously planned and refined the production tasks, allocating sufficient resources in terms of materials, labor, and technological support.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the entire workforce, the first 165-ton bridge-laying special flat car was completed ahead of schedule and delivered to the factory on May 21st. This achievement not only demonstrates the efficiency and capability of Chinese engineering but also reinforces the country's commitment to advancing its railway infrastructure with cutting-edge technology.
