Turkish truck parts supplier plans to build factory in India
Galipoglu Hidromas, a Turkish truck parts supplier, plans to build a factory in Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai, India, to produce hydraulic cylinder components. Talip Gul, the only son of Mehmet Yasar Gul, Chairman of Galipoglu Hidromas, said that the site of the new plant is close to the two major ports of Chennai and Ennore with convenient transportation and complete infrastructure. Galipoglu Hidromas has already purchased 2 acres of land in India and plans to purchase another 3 acres of land and is preparing to begin construction of the factory in February 2011. The Galipoglu Hidromas India plant is expected to reach sales of Rs. 240-250 million in the first year. In addition, Galipoglu Hidromas India will import steel pipes from Italy and South Korea due to the high demand for components for the production of hydraulic cylinders. Talip Gul will be responsible for the operation of the Indian factory in Galipoglu Hidromas.
