Southwestern Illinois College Fire Science Program receives vintage fire engine

It's a privilege to contribute to one of the top fire science programs in the region." Lougeay originally purchased the truck from the Willisville Fire Department in 2002. He used it for parades and fire truck exhibitions before deciding to pass it on to a cause that aligns with his passion for public service. The fire engine will be housed at the SWIC Clay Baitman Fire Science Center in Belleville, where all fire science courses are conducted. Each year, the program produces over 30 new firefighters who go on to serve their communities. The Fire Science Program at SWIC offers a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree with two specializations, as well as 11 different certificate options. These programs provide students with comprehensive training in emergency response, fire prevention, and hazardous materials handling, preparing them for successful careers in the field.
