The ship encountered an accident when the slideway was slid into the water, and the hull was stranded on the slideway and the trolley in the Danube. The shipyard and the shipowner have no objection to the hull airbag lifting scheme, because the marine airbag has a large lifting area and a uniform topping force, which has an unparalleled advantage for the hull safety. For the secondary launching scheme, the shipyard is in a dilemma: if the skid is used, the underwater repair work takes time and effort, and the airbag rolling out scheme becomes a hindrance.
In order to meet the requirements of the project, Qingdao Yongtai completed the production of 26 marine airbags within 7 days, which were then airlifted to Romania. Yong Anshun engineers also arrived at the shipyard on the day of the arrival of the airbag. After the site was inspected, they discussed with the shipowner shipyard. The final secondary launching scheme is determined as the airbag rolling out mode. Taking into account various factors, the airbag rolling out mode can save time and cost, and has greater advantages for launching safety.
Due to the water in the hull part and the complicated underwater conditions, the airbag positioning jacking has encountered many difficulties. In total, it took 7 days for the Yongtai airbag to complete the hull lifting work. At this time, the yaw's heel angle is almost 7° to the slope of the slide. The result is in agreement with the previous calculation. After the block was cleared, the water glide path and the clearance were all padded with sandbags, and the work was carried out for 3 days.
At 7 o'clock on the evening of September 2, the preparations for the launching of the water were ready, and the Danube River returned to the quiet. People are looking forward to the moment of launching. As the pull of the stern slowly increases, the hull begins to slowly start in the direction of the captain. After about 2-3 minutes, the stern began to slide along the airbag, while the bow was still advancing on the rolling airbag, and the hull came out of an arc shape, and finally the hull floated completely in the water.
This project is the first time to use the airbag launching method to launch the ship longitudinally on a 7° horizontal inclined slope, which is of pioneering significance. Airbag technology is less affected by terrain and is suitable for marine engineering applications in complex situations. With a deep understanding of airbag technology, Yongtai people have developed a scientific and rational plan for the project and finally achieved success. Yongtai marine launching airbags are lifted from the top to the bottom of the water. They are always in an extremely complicated environment. There are various disadvantages such as wooden slides, broken blocks, flat irons and stones.
