The national standard "Technical Code for Oil Refining Wastewater Treatment Project" was formally established at the Lanzhou Chemical Research Center of China Petroleum and Petrochemical Research Institute last week. The national standard will be a unified, standardized design, implementation, operation and management of the status quo of our country's refining wastewater treatment, in order to improve the efficiency of water use in China's oil refining industry and improve the water environment.

As China's crude oil processing capacity increases year by year, the corresponding wastewater discharges also increase year by year. At present, the primary processing capacity of crude oil in China has increased from 276 million tons in 2000 and 325 million tons in 2005 to more than 500 million tons, ranking second in the world. However, China's oil refining industry consumes about 0.6 tons of fresh water per ton of oil, and the corresponding amount of waste water discharged from tons of oil is about 0.3 tons, which is far below the international advanced level of less than 0.2 tons of water consumed per ton of crude oil.

The reason for this result is not that China does not have advanced wastewater treatment technologies. On the contrary, there are many advanced oil refining wastewater treatment technologies that have been industrially applied in some refineries. However, at present, there is no uniform standard for the treatment of petroleum refining wastewater in China. Therefore, even under similar petroleum refining process conditions, there will be some differences in the design, construction, and operation management of wastewater treatment plants, which will directly lead to some petroleum refining. Wastewater is not up to standard discharge. Therefore, it is imperative to establish a set of standards in the treatment technology of petroleum refining wastewater to standardize the design, construction, acceptance and operation of the petroleum refining wastewater treatment project, so that the stability of refining wastewater can be achieved, and the sustainable development of refinery enterprises can be guaranteed. China's economy is developing steadily and healthily.

Lanzhou Chemical Research Center has accumulated a lot of research experience in the treatment of petrochemical wastewater. By the end of 2011, it had applied for 40 patents related to refining and chemical wastewater treatment, and had already authorized 31. This time it assumed the technical specifications of the oil refining wastewater treatment project. The compilation of national standards.

It is understood that in order to make the standards more scientific, the editing team is working on a letter or field survey of dozens of refinery companies in China to collect data on thousands of related petroleum refining wastewater. At the same time, in order to make the standards more adaptable, the editorial team will seriously study the relevant national and local wastewater treatment standards, so that the developed standards will be matched with the current situation in various regions in China. In addition, in order to make the standard more advanced, the editing team will also seriously compare various domestic and foreign mature wastewater treatment processes to ensure that the national standard promotes the promotion of new wastewater treatment technologies.
