Iran begins to build a new petrochemical complex

Tehran reported on February 16 that Iran has today started cooperation with Haldor Topsoe of Denmark to start construction of the new petrochemical complex Marjan Petrochemical Complex in the port city of Assalu, Iran.
It is reported that the Marjan petrochemical complex will be built in the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone in Assalaya.
The new petrochemical complex, estimated at a cost of 342 million euros and US$212 million, is expected to be put into production by 2015. The new petrochemical complex will produce 1.65 million tons of methanol annually.
According to the contract, Haldor Topsoe of Denmark will provide technical licenses, engineering design, catalysts, and technology provision services.
