The Lemont Fire Protection District, part of MABAS Division 10, has recently been added to the site. Karl Klotz and Larry Shapiro captured a comprehensive photo session featuring all four fire stations and the entire fleet. The district operates two Crimson pumper engines, one Ferrara rescue unit, and a Pierce quint. Each station is equipped with a Type I ambulance, consisting of two Ford units, a Navistar, and a Freightliner chassis, all fitted with Medtec and McCoy Miller bodies.
A recent image shows Truck 949, a key vehicle in the district’s fleet. Station 1, the headquarters, also houses an air trailer and the MABAS Division 10 Water Rescue and Recovery trailer. Another photo highlights the MABAS water rescue unit, showcasing the district's commitment to emergency response beyond traditional firefighting.
Among the historical vehicles, there's a 1982 American LaFrance Century engine, which carried 500 gallons of water and a 1,500-GPM pump. A 1983 American LaFrance Century Series 75-foot Water Chief Quint (1500/500) was also on display, demonstrating the district's long-standing use of iconic fire apparatus. These images offer a glimpse into both the modern and historic sides of the Lemont Fire Protection District.
