Chicago 2-11 Alarm fire, 12-10-14

Chicago reported a 2-11 alarm today at the former Engine 104 station, located at 14th and Michigan Avenue. The fire broke out at 1401 Michigan, which was once the home of Engine 104. The historic firehouse, built in 1905, features limestone and yellow brick construction. According to CFD Media: "The 211 at 1401 Michigan is the old quarters of Engine 104. Firehouse built in 1905 with limestone and yellow brick. Engine 104’s firehouse was also used in the filming of the movie *Backdraft*. There's still heavy fire now… 9:47 AM." The structure, now fully involved in fire, has drawn attention due to its historical significance and past appearance in a well-known film.
