Autodesk is partnering with Google Cloud to bring cloud-based rendering solutions to the media and entertainment industry. This collaboration introduces a new ZYNC Render service optimized for Autodesk Maya 2016, enabling users to render 3D scenes directly on Google Cloud. The partnership aims to expand this offering to more products and platforms in the future, providing scalable and cost-effective compute power for creative workflows.
“Cloud rendering has transformed how creative teams work, allowing them to scale quickly based on project needs,†said Chris Bradshaw, Senior Vice President at Autodesk. “With this new integration, Maya users can boost their rendering capacity without additional hardware. And this is just the start—our team is already looking at how we can extend this functionality to other M&E
TOOLS.â€
Cloud rendering offers flexibility that’s essential for today’s fast-paced production environments. It helps studios of all sizes manage tight deadlines and minimize downtime. Small creative firms can now deliver high-quality visuals without the burden of maintaining expensive data centers or software licenses. Meanwhile, larger studios can enhance their existing render farms with cloud resources while keeping capital costs under control.
The new Maya cloud rendering service is now available on Google Cloud Platform’s ZYNC platform, with pricing starting at $0.60 per hour. Users can take advantage of supported renderers like Arnold, V-Ray, and Renderman through ZYNC.
