House fire in Park Ridge, 4-27-16
This is from Larry Shapiro: On Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016, just after 7 PM, Park Ridge firefighters were dispatched to 1205 Hoffman Avenue in response to a reported house fire. The first arriving units noticed heavy smoke coming from the attic of a single-family home and immediately began an interior attack. About 10 minutes later, the situation escalated, and the alarm was upgraded to a Code 4 as flames broke through the roof. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and mutual aid units that had not yet arrived were sent back to their stations. No one was injured in the incident. At the scene, Park Ridge Engine 35 and 36, Ambulance 35 and 36, Rescue 36, Battalion 36, and the 3500 unit were on duty. Additional support came from Niles Ambulance, Tower 2, North Maine Engine and Battalion 1, Glenview Engine 7, Lincolnwood Ambulance 15, and Rosemont Truck 158. I arrived at the scene just as the fire was declared under control. It was clear that the crews worked efficiently and professionally to contain the situation before it could spread further.
