Homewood Acres FPD update

Dennis McGuire, Jr. dropped by the Homewood Acres Fire Department recently, bringing along several photos and some details about the department. He noted that while the department isn't fully operational just yet, they're making steady progress. Training sessions are ongoing, and they currently have 15 volunteers committed to the cause. One of their older vehicles, Engine 1932—a 1972 Ford-John Bean with a 1,000-gallon-per-minute (GPM) pump and 750 gallons of water capacity—has found a new home. This classic rig, which previously served in East Joliet FPD, Holbrook FPD, and Glenwood FD, has been sold to a man in Grant Park, Illinois, who owns a pawn shop in Flossmoor. It's set to leave tomorrow morning (May 30th) and will be displayed at his business for promotional purposes. Interestingly, this Ford model runs on gasoline. Over its service life, this vehicle saw action across multiple departments and had quite the journey. The replacement for the old Engine 1932 is a newer addition: a 1985 Ford/Pierce top-mount pumper from Plainfield, Illinois. The team is still deciding whether they'll paint it or keep it in its original white color scheme. This rig boasts a powerful 1,250-GPM pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water, making it a significant upgrade. Its Pierce serial number is E-2635, reflecting its robust build quality. Meanwhile, another piece of equipment—the former Country Club Hills Ford—was recently scrapped. In its place, they acquired a 1986 Mack/Ward 79 pumper from Burbank, Illinois, formerly Engine 208 of that department. This newer rig also features impressive specs, including a 1,250-GPM pump and 750 gallons of water capacity. Its Mack serial number is CF685FC-2242, and it adds another layer of capability to the department’s fleet. Dennis mentioned that one of the photos he shared captures all three rigs lined up together, creating a striking visual. It’s a testament to how far they’ve come in building their fleet and preparing for full operations. The Homewood Acres Fire Protection District continues to evolve, and these vehicles play a crucial role in their mission to serve the community effectively.

AGV Solution For Mobile Racking

AGV Solution For Mobile Racking, in simple terms, are movable shelving that can greatly improve space utilization, and a set of shelves only requires one channel to fix the tray shelves, serving only the two rows of shelves on both sides of the channel. So, within the same space, its storage capacity and efficiency are much higher than ordinary shelves. Mobile racking can actually be divided into light to medium mobile racking and heavy mobile shelving. They are as follows: What are light and medium-sized mobile shelving? Light and medium-sized mobile racking, also known as dense shelves, have evolved from light and medium-sized laminated shelves, requiring only a passage of about 1M. It can be said that light and medium-sized mobile shelves have the highest space utilization rate, and can also be divided into two types of mobile racking: manual and electric. Furthermore, the contact surfaces between each column of the light and medium-sized mobile shelving is equipped with cushioning, and the magnetic sealing strip is also equipped with a dustproof plate at the top and a rat proof device at the bottom. Each column is also equipped with a safety limit braking device and an anti tipping device, and a lock is arranged on the side for overall locking. The transmission mechanism is processed through precision machining and uses precision bearings, making the transmission flexible and stable. The spacing between layers can be freely adjusted according to needs. What is a heavy-duty mobile shelf? Heavy mobile shelves are generally evolved from heavy pallet shelves, which belong to an exposed structure, and each two rows of shelves are placed on the base. There are also walking wheels on the base, which can run along the track. In its chassis, there are also motors and reducers, alarm, and sensing devices installed. The storage system for heavy-duty mobile shelves only requires 1-2 channels, which has extremely high space utilization. Here, Hagrid also points out that heavy-duty mobile shelves must be electric, and goods are accessed by forklifts with zero support. The channel is usually about 3m, which can improve the utilization rate of the ground by about 80% compared to ordinary shelves.

Mobile shelving allow warehouses to save more floor space, with a floor usage rate range of 80%; Mobile shelves allow warehouses to save more floor space, with a floor usage rate range of 80%; Suitable for storage with few samples and multiple low-frequency frequencies; Relatively speaking, the storage capacity per unit area of mobile shelves can be increased to about twice that of pallet shelves; The use of mobile shelves allows direct access to every item of goods, without being subject to first in, first out restrictions, etc.
