Greens Power installs exhaust gas boiler installations for Kuwaiti tankers

Recently, Greens Power Co., based in Wakefield, England, worked closely with the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) to supply and install an exhaust gas boiler (EGB) unit for the latter fleet.
As early as the beginning of 2015, Greens Power received a contract from the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company to replace the damaged exhaust gas boiler unit of the “AL SHEGAYA” oil tanker. Greens Power's maintenance manager conducted a thorough inspection of the vessel in Kuwait, replacing the unit and designing modifications to ensure operational efficiency and component lifecycle optimization.
It is reported that the exhaust gas boiler installation is mainly produced at the Wakefield plant in the UK. After receiving the contract, Greens Power ships the boiler to the ASRY shipyard in Bahrain, and the installation team moves to the dock to work in a timely, safe, efficient and professional manner. A commissioning engineer is responsible for the startup of the equipment.

Cryogenic Gate Valve

Applications such as liquefied natural gas and other low temperature fluids, present special extreme temperature valve functionality challenges. Valves designed for cryogenic services, are specially prepared and designed to overcome these challenges.


Appropriate component materials such as 304SS (CF8) and 316SS (CF8M) are normally used for body and trim, offering superior impact strength, and excellent corrosion resistance and heat loss properties. An extended bonnet and gas column design is also normally adopted to provide thermal insulation at the stem seal and stem packing area. At sufficient length, this design feature places the functionality of the stem seal in the vapor zone of the liquid media providing safe and continuous valve operation. 


A variety of body, trim, seat, and seal materials are available for use in cryogenic service. Customer specified options, such as body cavity vent hole, special extension lengths, and materials are also available upon request.
