Basic understanding of flotation regulators

Regulators are often used during flotation to alter the properties of the mineral surface and to improve flotation conditions. According to the action properties of the medicament, it is divided into four categories: inhibitors, activators and medium regulators and flocculants.

1) Inhibitors. It is an agent that reduces the floatability of minerals. When a useful mineral flotation, to prevent its floating harmful impurities, we should add inhibitor; After mixing the multi-metal, and then sorting them one by one to open, also need to use inhibitors for treatment.

2) Activator. It is mainly used to cause the mineral surface to be used as an agent for easily adsorbing the collector state. It is also possible to remove an inhibitory film which hinders the trapping action from the surface of the mineral.

3) Medium conditioner. Mainly to adjust the role of the pH of the pulp.

4) Flocculant: It is mainly to eliminate the influence of fine mud and harmful ions in the slurry, so that they are connected in series to form flocculent clusters and precipitates.
