Last night's fire in Northbrook at 1434 Lori-Lyn Lane was quite a sight. I managed to capture some photos and even a video that really capture the intensity of the situation. The firefighters worked tirelessly, and it was an impressive display of their skills and dedication.
Here’s one image where you can see a firefighter pulling a supply line. It’s a crucial moment as they prepare to tackle the blaze. Another shot shows smoke and flames bursting through the roof just as the interior teams were withdrawing. The drama continues in the next photo, where you can see the supply line being set up for the tower ladder. Things got even more intense as heavy fire continued to rage through the roof while preparations were underway to use the tower ladder effectively.
There’s also a great shot of a handline in action within the B Sector. You can almost feel the heat and sense of urgency in this picture. Northbrook’s new Ambulance 10, built on a Freightliner chassis, makes an appearance too, showcasing modern emergency response equipment. The Pierce tower ladder, named Tower 12, played a critical role in knocking down most of the fire. And don’t miss the dramatic image of Wheeling Engine 42 supplying the tower ladder with LDH under the dim light of dusk.
