Momentive Group and Xinan Chemical Joint Venture Expanded Production of Siloxane
Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group, a manufacturer of organic silicon and high-tech materials, and Momentive High-tech Materials Group, a manufacturer of pesticide chemicals and silicon-based new materials, announced on April 27 that it will expand the production scale of its joint venture company, Zhejiang Xin'an Maituo Silicone Co., Ltd. The joint venture company is located in Jiande, China. The first phase of the annual production capacity of siloxane is approximately 50,000 tons (100,000 tons of organic silicon monomer production capacity) and has now been successfully put into production. The expansion will increase its silicone production capacity by a factor of two and is expected to reach 150,000 tons per year (300,000 tons of monomer production capacity) in 2013. For this expansion, Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group and Momentive Advanced Materials Group will respectively invest approximately 33.15 million U.S. dollars and 31.85 million U.S. dollars in this joint venture company, with an additional investment of 65 million U.S. dollars. The joint venture company is held 51% by Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical Group and Momentive Gaoxin Materials Group holds 49%.
