Germany introduces new yarn wear measuring instrument
There are several factors that generally affect yarn abrasion resistance: fiber shape, titanium dioxide additive, spinning method and conditions, such as sugar on contaminated cotton, free end spinning or ring spinning. The instrument measures the wear resistance of yarns spun from a variety of different methods to compare their abrasion resistance. The abrasion resistance depends on the effect of the finishing, the added additives and the amount of wear, and depends on the level of the cotton yarn. The use of CTT-YAT reduces the loss of component components, such as yarn guides, guide pins and healds, which significantly reduces production costs.
