Deltamarin provides design services for two polar oilfield guard ships

It is reported that Deltamarin will provide turbine and hull design services for two polar oilfield guard ships under construction at the Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, a Finnish icebreaker manufacturer. As early as 2014, the Russian shipping giant Sovcomflot built three of the polar icebreakers at the Helsinki Shipyard for the oil and gas field protection of Sakhalin. The total contract price was about 380 million US dollars.

In addition to being used primarily for marine rescue and oil spill recovery, this polar oilfield guard ship can also be used as a platform supply vessel (ship type shipyard for sale) for cargo transportation. Detamarin will assist Arctech in completing the turbine design of the first ship and the hull design of the first two series of ships.

This polar oilfield guard ship, 95 meters long and 22 meters wide, can not only sail freely in the ice zone, but also can perform icebreaking operations in a harsh environment of minus 35 degrees, that is, it can be independently opened in a 1.5-meter-thick ice zone. channel.

These ships are scheduled to be delivered between September 2016 and March 2017.
