(NASDAQ:ADSK), a leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software, has reached a definitive agreement with Graitec's shareholders to acquire specific technology assets, including Graitec’s Advance Steel and Advance Concrete product lines along with the associated employees. This acquisition aims to strengthen Autodesk’s current structural engineering offerings and expand its suite of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools designed for structural fabrication and detailing. By integrating these advanced technologies, Autodesk will continue to drive the industry toward BIM adoption and streamline model-based workflows for structural engineers, detailers, fabricators, and contractors.
The transaction is projected to conclude during the fourth quarter of Autodesk’s fiscal year 2014, subject to standard closing conditions.
