The Evergreen Park Fire Department in MABAS Division 21 recently joined our website. They operate out of a single station located at 9000 S. Kedzie Avenue, which is home to an impressive fleet of vehicles. Many thanks go to Matt Schumann for providing us with these detailed images and additional information about the department. This department serves a vibrant community that was established back in 1893, though its formal fire department was formed through an ordinance in 1926. Every day, they protect around 23,000 residents across an area of 3.2 square miles. When emergencies arise, they are dispatched via Oak Lawn Central Dispatch on the frequency 155.55 Mhz. The leadership includes one full-time chief, one part-time deputy chief, and a volunteer roster of approximately 100 members. This team ensures that the department maintains an excellent ISO rating of Class 3.
On each shift, they deploy 10 personnel, including a battalion chief, an engine crew, an ambulance team, and a truck company, ensuring coverage at all times. They also maintain automatic aid agreements with neighboring departments like the Village of Oak Lawn and Hometown FPD. Geographically, Evergreen Park is surrounded by Chicago to the north, east, and south, while Oak Lawn and Hometown lie to the west.

One of their standout vehicles is their Snorkel 3, which originally belonged to the Wilmette Fire Department. This rig features a powerful 1,250-GPM pump and carries 300 gallons of water. Here's how it looked during its time with Wilmette:
