The Evergreen Park Fire Department, located within MABAS Division 21, has recently been added to our records. Situated at 9000 S. Kedzie Ave., this department boasts an impressive fleet of vehicles. Matt Schumann generously provided the images and details about the department, which include the following:
- The village was established back in 1893, with its fire department officially formed via an ordinance in 1926.
- They provide daily protection to around 23,000 residents across an area of 3.2 square miles.
- Their dispatch is handled by Oak Lawn Central Dispatch on the frequency 155.55 MHz.
- The department operates under the leadership of one full-time chief and one part-time deputy chief, supported by roughly 100 paid-on-call (POC) members.
- With an ISO rating of 3, they maintain high standards of service.
- Each shift consists of 10 personnel, including a battalion chief, engine crew, ambulance team, and truck company, ensuring constant readiness.
- They have automatic-aid agreements with both the Village of Oak Lawn and Hometown FPD.
- Geographically, the village is surrounded by the City of Chicago to the north, east, and south, while Hometown and Oak Lawn lie to the west.
