Daimler plans to build commercial vehicle in India in 2010

Last week, Daimler negotiated with Indian Bajaj Auto and TVS Group to produce commercial vehicles in India. It plans to produce light and medium trucks in 2010 and heavy commercial vehicles in 2012.

It is understood that Bajaj Auto is the second largest motorcycle manufacturer in India and is the country’s largest manufacturer of motor tricycles. The company is discussing a car project with Renault and Nissan.

TVS Motor, part of the TVS Group, is India's third-largest two-wheeler manufacturer.
