Autodesk SVP Jan Becker Selected as Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year

It’s been more than 14 years since Jan Becker, Autodesk's Senior Vice President, began leading the Human Resources and Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Travel, and Safety and Security (CREFTS) team. During this time, as Autodesk has grown, evolved, and transformed, Jan and her team have been instrumental in ensuring the company remains not just a great workplace but also one that’s well-structured to back its business strategy and future goals. Although many of her colleagues on the executive leadership team often make headlines, Jan and her team operate largely behind the scenes. It’s incredibly gratifying for all of us that Jan has been chosen by HRO Today Magazine as their Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year! Just a few days ago, during an awards ceremony in Philadelphia, Jan received the award and shared some of the ways her team has helped keep Autodesk competitive and innovative. One of the most significant changes they’ve implemented is a new performance management system. This shift did away with traditional annual written reviews, replacing them with ongoing, quarterly discussions between managers and employees, focusing on personal growth and goal-setting. The Talent Acquisition team has also made strides by being early adopters of social media platforms like LinkedIn for recruitment. They’re now pioneering the next wave of online recruiting tools, aiming to make the process even more personalized and centered around the candidate experience. Another remarkable achievement is how the Corporate Real Estate, Facilities, Travel, and Safety team has leveraged Autodesk’s own software to design and construct globally recognized, sustainable workspaces. These spaces have earned exceptional environmental ratings and reflect the company’s innovative spirit, helping attract and retain top talent. Over the last three years, these efforts have placed Autodesk on nearly 20 “Best Places to Work” lists worldwide, including being ranked #70 on FORTUNE’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list in 2014. Let’s take a moment to celebrate Jan and the entire HR and CREFTS teams for this incredible recognition! Their dedication and vision continue to drive Autodesk forward, ensuring it remains a leader in both technology and workplace culture.
